Read it Slow

Wisdom to Change
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little. Isaiah 29:10

You hear many say you can read the bible in a year. Many bibles being printed today have a plan to read it in a year. But when you read one chapter in the morning and three chapters at night, do you really get the full understanding of it.

There’s one chapter in the bible that has one hundred seventy-six verses in it. Could you really read those verses in one setting and get an understanding of what the Father is saying to you? No, I don’t think we could.

When we read the Word of God, we need to take one verse at a time and study it, dissect it, meditate on it and find out what the word really means. I decided to take a verse in the bible and reflect on one word. The verse is from Habakkuk 3:18, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. I wanted to know what salvation means. Salvation means deliverance, victory, prosperity, freedom, health, ease, peace, soundness, perseverance and wholeness. When I took the time to find out what salvation means, I was amazed. Salvation has many meanings. I noticed in the Word of God, one word has many meanings.

I read other verses with salvation so I could get a better understanding of what it meant. The Father wants us to know that in salvation we have been delivered from death, hell and the grave. He has given us the victory to overcome the world. He wants us to prosper in our spirits, soul, body and mind. He has freed us from a yoke of bondage so we won’t be entangled again. We are FREE! Because of the stripes Jesus took on His back, we can walk in divine health. When we keep our minds stayed on Christ, He will keep us in perfect peace. I looked up the word soundness, to find out its meaning. It means a state or condition free from damage or decay. We can be rooted and grounded in the word, when things of the world try to sway us, it won’t work. For we have laid up the treasures of God’s word in our hearts, so when corruption, immorality, perversion or foolishness comes knocking, it won’t catch us off guard. In salvation we also have wholeness in our total being. The definition of wholeness is undivided or unbroken completeness or totality with nothing wanting. Wow, the Father has included all this in the salvation package. That’s why it’s important to study to find out every promise He has for us.

Next time we read the Word of God, let’s read it slow in order to get the full scope of what the Father is saying to us.

Have a Beautiful Day
