Wisdom to Change

Wisdom to Change
The Hooks and Bait
The commandment of the Lord is pure, ENLIGHTENING the eyes. Psalms 19:8

Have you ever gone fishing and caught one? Well, I have gone fishing, but
I haven't caught anything. I find fishing to be a relaxing and exciting
sport. When I prepare to fish I make sure I have my bait, the hook are in
good condition and there’s enough wire on the fishing rod. Also I make
sure I’m in the right spot at the right time in order to catch me some
fish. I know what time to go out and I even know when the catfish are
biting. Put some chicken liver on your hook and they come biting.

Did you know the enemy loves to go fishing, too? But what he fishes for is
your soul. He uses a variety of bait in order to lead God’s children into
sin. I decided I wanted to know what type of bait and hooks; he has in his
tackle box. I noticed he had many hooks. There were jig hooks, worm hooks,
spring treble hooks and a lot of triple grip hooks. I over heard the enemy
talking about the jig hook. He explained in detail this hook is used to
hook them in the mouth and up through their backs. He likes these hooks
because whatever bait he uses, they can’t get loose. The bait he uses on
the jig hook is fear, wrong doctrine, and misuse of scriptures,
resentment, bitterness, offenses, revenge, anger, loneliness, gossip,
slander, betrayal and spiritual blindness. One of his other helpers and
crew really like the worm hook because it's easy to use, not much effort
is used in deceiving individuals and they hook them up fast and multiple
catches, back to back. The bait they use is stubborn, unforgiveness,
hopelessness, doubt, worry, anxiety, impatient, fear, unbelief and apathy.
The spring treble hook penetrates the toughest mouths and this hook is
sharp and really holds the bait on it and when they bite they can’t let
go. The bait they use is disobedience, rebellion, suicidal thoughts,
depression, despair, heaviness, self-pity and inner hurts. Without fail
this hook and bait always gets its victim. And last but not least, the
triple grip hook is the most dangerous hook because it has 3 hooks on it
and he has plenty of these hooks in his tackle box. The bait used on this
hook is the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life. The
enemy loves the triple grip hook for the time we are living in and
additional bait of familiar spirits, lying spirits, perverse spirits,
spirit of bondage, seducing spirits, spirit of error and spirit of
infirmity is used. The enemy uses bait that’s always disguised to look
inviting.

Now, if you do get hooked, the Father has provided a way of escape through
His Word. Pray, read, meditate, study His Word, resist the devil and he
will flee and get hooked up with people that are stronger than you. Choose
your words carefully when you speak. Connect with people that believe in
the power of pray and not afraid to take a stand for what’s right. As you
do these things, this will allow you to see the bait he's trying to catch
you with. Listen, there are many hooks out there dangling in front of us
that look inviting, but if we keep God's commandments, stay on the path
and obey we will not be caught off guard. Listen to the voice of the good
Shepherd and run from the voice of the enemy because your life depends on
it.

Have a Beautiful Day
