Why?

Wisdom for Today

For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds Psalm 7:9

Why do I have to go through anything? Why is it so hard? Why does it hurt? Why do I worry so much? Why can’t I trust God? Why can’t I have faith like Jesus? Why can’t I pray when I need to? Why can’t I take time to read the Word? Why do I keep going through the same thing? Why won’t things change? Why can’t I get past this? Why, Why, Why.

My question to you is why do you ask why? We all have asked the question why. I use to wonder why myself. Why do we have test and trials? What’s the purpose of going through anything? I realized one day, we go through test and trials to make us stronger and better, to strengthen our faith and our love for Him. We are not exempt from test and trials. They come in our lives by 2 means, the Father and the enemy. You may say but how can the enemy bring test and trials in my life. He doesn’t have the right to. Believe me he bring test and trials by any means necessary. He tested Jesus and he will test you. The enemy sits back and watches your every move. He watches how you react in situations and he bases what type of test to bring in your life. If you have an attitude problem, he will use an attitude test. If you’re having a giving problem, he will tell you not to give what rightfully belongs to God. He will say things like; you know you can’t afford to give the tithes and offerings. Listen, you can’t afford not to. If you have a problem with the flesh, he will cause all types of distractions for you to fall. I can go on and on about things he likes to use against you to bring you down. But if you know your authority in Christ, anything that he tries to bring your way, you’ll be able to defeat him with the Word and living in harmony with God. So why not have a good fight-fight the good fight of Faith, where you always win.

Another way we are tested is by God. There are many tests he uses to see what’s in our hearts. You’ll have the test of love to see if you can love the unlovely. You’ll have the test of money, to see if you’re a cheerful, willing giver or one that’s stingy and gives grudgingly. You’ll have the test of faith, to see if you’ll walk by faith or by sight. He’ll bring a variety of test to check where your heart is. Remember when Abraham was asked by God to sacrifice his son Isaac, this test was given to check his obedience to God. It’s ok to ask why, but realize it is to see what’s in your heart and your obedience to Christ. So, why not. Except the challenges that come in your life, it’s either going to make you better or bitter.

Have a Beautiful Day
